Our mission at Monte Sano Baptist Church is to be a church where the Bible is taught faithfully and accurately, disciples are made locally and globally, and our community is impacted physically and spiritually. Jimmy Tidmore — Pastor

Jimmy serves as our pastor at Monte Sano Baptist Church. Jimmy was raised in the Birmingham, AL area and became a Christian at the age of 12 in a church pastored by a friend’s father. Jimmy attended Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems in 1998. In 2003 he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After graduation from Auburn, Jimmy worked in the information technology industry for 14 years. In 2008, Jimmy yielded to God’s call to full-time ministry and enrolled at Beeson Divinity School in 2009 receiving his Master of Divinity degree in December 2012. Jimmy has been married to his wife Lara for nineteen years, and they have a twelve-year-old daughter named Mary Tanner and a six-year-old son named James Eli. Jimmy has been the pastor of Monte Sano Baptist Church since February 2013.

Lamar Gibson — Pastor of Discipleship

Lamar Gibson joined Monte Sano Baptist Church with a passion to see people grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Lamar’s goal as discipleship pastor is to equip and empower people to work in the ministry of the Lord. An influential verse in his life is 2 Timothy 1:7, which reminds him that God is in control of our lives and leading us by the direction of the Holy Spirit. Lamar has been serving at Monte Sano since January 2018. Lamar has been married to Megan Gibson since March 2012. Lamar is currently a teacher and a coach at Huntsville High School, while Megan is pursuing her UAB Medical degree in Huntsville. Lamar and Megan are driven by missions and a desire to be obedient to the Lord’s calling.

Aubrey Evans — Director of Youth and Music Ministries

A long-time resident of the Monte Sano community, Aubrey has been director of youth and music ministries at Monte Sano Baptist since 2015. She grew up attending Huntsville Christian Church where she made a decision to follow Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 12. Aubrey is working toward finishing a degree in Bible and ministry at Johnson University. She lives on Monte Sano with her two lovely daughters Carys (age eleven) and Saige (age nine) and enjoys hiking and exploring new places with them.
